We are a Nascar family. My husband was introduced to the sport years and years ago by my dad. They have enjoyed many a car race together. The races never fail to entertain – who gets the pole, what’s the point structure this season, who wrecked who, did they pass inspection? It is a regular soap opera for men. No lie. I will have to admit it has sucked me in as well. My boys now watch a little bit, not as much as Daddy though. They all, however, are intrigued by cars. My husband is teaching them well. Cars are so not my thing. I would drive mine till it falls apart but my husband and dad will likely make me get a new one before then. I can think of so many more fun things to spend money on. Like junk. Makes sense right?
Staying in line with my junkyard/auto salvage yard theme of the week I put together this little number in honor of my boys. They will love it. The baby mattress was a freebie I found on the curb and I collected a small array of hubcaps for projects such as this. You may have seen the girl version hung in my daughter’s room. You could add any color, maybe racing plaid, stripes or even auto leather to jazz up this fun clipboard. It would be great in a man cave, boy’s room, shop or even outside. I think it is important to remind my boys there will be many races in their life, but there is only one that really matters.
