Are you ready to see the cutest farmhouse classroom ever? Let me back up and explain. We just moved to a new town this summer, we didn’t know a soul and have extremely little knowledge of the school system, teachers, etc. We didn’t even know who my son’s third-grade teacher was until we walked in the door of the school for Meet the Teacher night a few days before school started. Imagine our surprise when we learned Sadler’s new teacher was named Hank (my other son’s name) and he had the most precious farmhouse style schoolroom.
I was instantly smitten with the new surroundings and even my big kids thought this was the perfect setting for their little brother to feel right at home. The very next day after the Meet The Teacher event I couldn’t stop thinking about how amazing Mr. Pendly’s classroom was, so I did what any normal mom would do. I text him to see if I could photograph his room for y’all! I said a prayer and hit send, hoping he wouldn’t think I was a wacky stalker. Luckily he said yes, so here we go, a tour through the cutest farmhouse classroom EVER!
Mr. Pendley is obsessed with Joann Gaines (his words, not mine). My favorite thing about this room is how he brought his passion to the classroom. It’s so important for kids to see people living out what they love and this decor certainly speaks volumes about their teacher. I have a feeling they will always remember this classroom because it is so different than most, it’s personal.
Mr. Pendley’s personality shows in every corner of the room. Besides being stylish the room just has a calm and organized feel to it. Super important in a class heavily laden with 3rd-grade boys!
Don’t you adore the cohesive color scheme…the inspirational touches…
you know I love a wood and fabric curtain…
I’m loving that my child is surrounded with cheery greenery
and a homelike feel while away at school all day. Clearly, he feels relaxed here…
Classic school colors will always be around, but there are no rules that say a classroom can’t be trendy and stylish. I think Mr. Pendley’s farmhouse classroom proves teaching and learning are more fun in an environment you love! I am so appreciative of teachers and the amazing, hard and important work they do! Thank you to all the teachers out there!!! Hope this farmhouse classroom inspires you to express your style and share your love with your students through creativity!

Oh my – this teacher is amazing! (and a man?!?! – lol) What an awesome classroom! I would totally go back to third grade in a room like this. He should have a blog or book or something. Thanks for sharing!

I love this classroom. Almost makes me want to come out of retirement! (Almost!!! ????)
I had no idea y’all had moved to Midlothian. It’s a growing place. My first teaching job was in Red Oak, and we played Midlothian in football.
Hope Mae & the boys are adjusting well to the move. I always thought Midlothian would be a nice place to live.
Take care!
Love,
Joan Moore

Wow! Classrooms have come a long way from the institutional colors and furniture which I’m sure were leftover from when my parents were in school. Such an inspiring room to foster growth, learning, and imagination. Love it!

What an inspiration the teacher and the classroom. Warm and inviting. I hope every child who is in this classroom is elevated to go forward and pursue their passions.

Well this teacher would love to move right in there! What a gorgeous room! Those third graders are lucky to learn in such an inviting space 🙂

I think so too!!!

As a teacher, I really love this classroom, but shudder to think of how much of my own money that I would have to spend to make mine look like this. I spend so much already on basic supplies and curriculum support that I would be working for free if I bought furniture and decor as well!
Kim at Hunt and Host says
I hate that teachers spend so much on their classrooms! At least with this it’s stuff you could actually use in your house later 🙂
Debbie Hastedt says
I love his room! I teach 5th grade and I just completely redid mine and while I did spend some money it will, stay this way for the next 10 years. I need stools desperately for small groups and to sit with my kids. I love his! My room is black and white w a pop of off green. Do you know where he got his stools? Thank you so much for posting this!
Christina says
Those stools are from an educational furniture company called “VS.”
I happened to work in another school in the same district. 🙂 The district got a bond approved and purchased brand new furniture for all the older buildings in the district. It was amazing!
