Make all your gifts gorgeous and personal with this monogram gift wrapping idea!
You guys know I love to monogram all the things. Everything. All of it. So why not monogram gifts too? Look how cute you can make your gift wrapping this year! Perfect for Christmas gift wrap, birthdays or just because! I love to use plain brown craft paper for wrapping paper, it is such a neutral base that you can make your own. I try not to use gift bags when I wrap, because I am old school and love tearing into a gift so much more, BUT if I have to these bags are the way to go! I found these plain bags, wrapping and some craft brushes at THE DOLLAR STORE! You will see some other great holiday ideas from the Dollar Store at the end of this tutorial.
Start by getting a stencil you LOVE. I have a few and I have my eye on a few I’d like to add to my collection (more on that later!) I think it is going to be easiest to assembly line wrap with this technique. If you want to wrap gifts as you go then maybe just put a sticky not on the box, so you know who’s is who’s until the monogram step comes into play.
You will want a set of monogram stencils, these are my favorite, you can make any monogram and they have cute borders in the set. Cut out a piece of cardboard (I always use old cereal boxes) in a circle slightly larger than the monogram shape and size. Tape it to the middle of your stencil so it will block out a spot for the monogram.
Assembly line paint your bags and packages. You may want to test paint before you do the actual gifts so you have a feel for how the paint works with the stencil. I like to use a foam roll brush or a cheap chip brush, be sure to not overload with paint or press to hard, this will shove the paint under your stencil and not leave a crisp design.
Once your overall stencil is done, use the monogram set to personalize each gift. For this small area I used a small round foam stencil brush to lightly dab each letter. It sounds like this takes a while, but if you have all your supplies ready and assembly line the process it is quick!
You can add bows and ribbons or leave as is! Are you mailing any gifts this year? It’s always fun to have a package waiting at your door, but how cute is this box?
Decorate the outside of the boxes you are going to mail for an extra special delivery! Your gift recipient won’t be able to wait and see what’s waiting inside this gorgeous package. Hope this makes your gift giving a little extra special this year! Here are some other creative ideas from the dollar store:
