This sweet little room all started with a light fixture.
I found it a Lowe’s and it was the first thing I bought in our renovation story. One tip that I think equals success in decorating is having a jumping off point. A piece of inspiration if you will.
I find it unbearably hard to start decorating a room with a clean slate and no vision. It’s impossible really. You will never be happy with the results if you don’t have direction. For me it can be something small like a pillow or a theme. Here it was the little chandelier. Everything else just builds around it.
This light and bright little bathroom started off dark and dank. It had mauve floral wallpaper.
The shower was a walk in closet kind of thing.
It was dark and scary.
And damp and stinky.
The chandelier dictated the classic white, smooth, clean selections …Carrara Marble again and a Moroccan shaped fresh white tile in the shower.
I adore the soft grey bird and floral pattern on the curtains.
You can read about the large monogram here.
Then there are some simple details that are easy and inexpensive, but make my heart sing.
It doesn’t take much to make me happy. Every day is about the little things, just like this room.
I don’t love every inch of my house, or even my life, but it is refreshing to have little spots that sparkle and speak to me. We can choose to focus on the parts we don’t love or smile and recognize the ones we do. I hope you are inspired to create some happy spots for yourself.

Where did you find the mirror? This is exactly what I’ve been looking for for my bathroom. Yours is lovely.

I wish I could tell you, but it was left in another house of ours by the previous owners! We just inherited it 🙂 Hope you find what you are looking for!

My most favorite here is: that precious tiny primitive stool, the cake pan centerpiece, and of course framed [baby bed] bed springs…just use your imagination here…lots of ways to go with this.

I have to say the bedspring monogram is one of my favorite things too! It was a blast to make and just adds a layer of girly fun to the room!

I love how you said you…. “don’t love every inch of my house or even my life, but it’s refreshing to have little spots that sparkle and speak to me”. That is such a great way to look at our homes and our lives. God’s not done with us yet. We are a “work in progress”. Thank you for your gift of encouragement.

Thank you Barbara, I am always scared when people only see the good stuff it only magnifies their bad stuff and I never want to do that…I have plenty of not so great stuff in my world!
